Paul Chapman & Sons was Incorporated in 2002 but its roots go back to 1982 when the twenty something founder (Paul Chapman) purchased his first machine (JCB 3C) During the next few years, the company expanded, acquiring plant and people, and won two contracts with David Wilson Homes performing ground works on prestigious new builds in the Midlands area.
In 1990 the company entered its first local infra structure works, engaging six men and machines improving the lives of the local residents and travellers alike with its involvement of the Dunchurch bypass project.
It wasn’t until 2006 when the company invested in its first crusher (Parker RT 960) which provided the opportunity to start a recycling leg to the business which quickly evolved into its primary interest and when the “Extec C12” was acquired, it gave a new dimension to the Reclamation of asphalt pavement (RAP). The company now prides its standing in both the pioneering works it undertook to become one of the leading specialists in the field and working with the country’s top Asphalt producers
With the growing recycling operations, it was inevitable that processing quarried stone was going to figure in the company’s future and in 2016 won contracts to process and haul aggregates at a major new quarry extension in Leicestershire running for nearly three years until its completion in 2020.
In 2019 Slinter Mining made an approach to purchase the business, which was an obvious acquisition for Slinter’s given their placing in the industry. Following the acquisition, Slinter Mining invested heavily in new plant giving the “Iron” a major face lift and staking their commitment to the future of the company, which now commands a newer fleet of plant, benefitting the environment, through lower emissions and improved fuel efficiency and improved up time!
The company continues to supply its services to the mining/quarrying and infrastructure sectors throughout the Midlands, providing at least the following specialist services:
